WhatsApp Channel Setup

Connect your WhatsApp Business account to manage customer messages directly from the Helpium inbox.

Prerequisites

  • A WhatsApp Business account
  • A Meta Business Suite account
  • Your WhatsApp Phone Number ID (from Meta Business settings)

Setting Up WhatsApp

  1. Go to Settings → Channels → WhatsApp
  2. Click Connect WhatsApp
  3. Enter your WhatsApp Phone Number ID
  4. Enter your Display Phone Number (the number customers see)
  5. Enter your Business Name for context
  6. Save the configuration

Webhook Configuration

After saving, Helpium provides a webhook URL and verification token. Configure these in your Meta Business Suite:

  1. Go to Meta Business Suite → WhatsApp → Configuration
  2. Set the Callback URL to the Helpium webhook URL
  3. Set the Verify Token to the provided token
  4. Subscribe to the messages webhook field

Receiving Messages

Once configured, incoming WhatsApp messages appear as conversations in your inbox. You can reply directly from Helpium, and your response is delivered via WhatsApp.

AI-Enabled Responses

Toggle AI Enabled to allow the chatbot to respond to WhatsApp conversations automatically.
