AI Message Limits
Each plan includes a monthly AI message allowance:

An "AI message" is counted each time the AI chatbot generates a response. Human agent messages are always unlimited on all plans.

API Rate Limiting
API requests are rate-limited per workspace to ensure fair usage. Rate limits apply to the Customer API endpoints:
- Search endpoints: 30 requests per minute
- Conversation endpoints: 60 requests per minute
- Widget settings: 30 requests per minute
When you exceed a rate limit, the API returns a 429 Too Many Requests response with a Retry-After header.
Monitoring Your Usage
View your current usage in Settings → Billing:
- AI messages used this month vs. your plan limit
- Articles created vs. your plan limit
- AI Actions configured vs. your plan limit
Usage resets on the first day of each billing cycle.
Upgrading Your Plan
If you're consistently hitting limits, consider upgrading:
- Go to Settings → Billing → Change Plan
- Select a new plan
- Changes take effect immediately
- You're prorated for the remainder of the billing cycle
